Tena koutou, nau mai, haere mai ki Hout & Co.
Not what we expected from our September is it?! Lockdowns and poor weather. But on the plus side, trips to Wanaka seem to be all the rage?
A lot of you Kiwis, and our fellow Australians for that matter, are finding it tough at the moment. Unexpected events seem to turn the world on its head every three months.
Did you know that in the last four weeks alone, more than 650'000 kiwis have felt lonely, according to Stats NZ. Thats more than 1 in 8 Kiwis struggling currently. We here at Hout & Co try and stay in touch with our family and close friends daily, is this the reminder you need to give your family and close friends a quick call and ask how their Thursday has been? More than a hundred of you fantastic people have sent beautiful gifts to your friends or bought little lockdown jewellery treats for yourselves over the last weeks. These little gifts are guarenteed to make someone's day.
We added an cute new piece to our collection last week, being the Stolen Heart Choker. This little beauty around your neck will have everyone asking about it on the daily zoom calls! We cannot wait for next week - it is shaping up to be exciting also, when we bring back our favourite, new and improved Calypso Hoops, along with a matching pearl Bracelet to our signature Takapuna Necklace and a few more suprises.
In addition to our Giving Back Initiative, where Hout & Co donate $1 per piece to our monthly peer-selected charity (currently Mental Health Foundation), we have added in the checkout process an option for you to add a voluntary donation, with no amount being too small. We are ensuring that we are helping our community, on issues that are important to you. Remember to follow our Instagram account to get the chance to have your input on who we support in October!
Have you immersed yourself in any te reo Māori this week, joining in on strengthening te reo Māori for Māori Language Week? This amazing project has gone through some adversity since it started in 1975, and shows perserverance pays off. We can all help, a sometimes daunting task begins with the smallest decision. Whether it is something small such as joining Hemi Kelly's "A Māori Phrase a Day" Facebook Page, or doing some research on the Maori Alphabet, it all helps strengthen the language for the future.
Our Hout & Co pieces will finish any outfit for your Formal Friday in the home-office, so shop now to make the most of your 20% discount.
Ko te tumanako kia pai to wiki - hope you are having a stunning week.
